An article by Dr Thomas Klein and Georg Kuhs entitled “The principle of ‘No pay without work’ and its exceptions in an examination, illustrated by the example of the employer's operational risk during the coronavirus lockdown” continues the series “Case Analysis in Labour Law” in the current issue of the journal Zeitschrift für das Juristische Studium. The series is aimed primarily at students specialising in labour law and complements the IAAEU's labour-law podcast by examining the cases discussed there in greater depth. It is intended to train awareness of legal issues and structured thinking, thereby making it easier to apply abstract knowledge to a specific set of facts. The articles place particular emphasis on explaining the approach to solving cases, which often receives less attention in case notes and practice cases. With this approach, the “Case Analysis in Labour Law” series is intended as a self-contained building block for successful exam preparation in labour law.
