Conference report by Josephine Ende on the IAAEU conference "Protection against discrimination and collective bargaining autonomy" published

In the current issue of the journal Arbeit und Recht (AuR), Josephine Ende reviews the conference on "Discrimination Protection and Collective Bargaining Autonomy" held at the IAAEU in early September. The conference dealt with the landmark decision of the Federal Constitutional Court on the binding nature of Article 3(1) of the German Basic Law (GG) on the parties to collective agreements and the legal consequences of collective agreements that violate the principle of equality.

In the conference report, Josephine Ende provides an overview of the presentations given at the event and the lively discussions that followed. First, she discusses the contributions by Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Däubler and Dr. Bertram Zwanziger, which dealt with the implementation of the decision in judicial practice. She then considers the presentation by Prof. Dr. dres. h.c. Monika Schlachter on protection against discrimination under EU law and the perspectives of the social partners presented by Roland Wolf and Prof. Dr. Nadine Brandl.

The conference report was published in AuR issue 12/2025, pp. 482–484.
